Vestibuloplasty

A Vestibuloplasty, also called a ridge extension, is any surgical procedure that increases the size of the denture-bearing area and height of the residual alveolar ridge (or portion of bone on either side of the jaw) that surrounds and supports the teeth. The primary reason for this surgical procedure is to prepare the mouth for dentures and give them more surface area to adhere to. This can be accomplished by repositioning the jaw muscles attached to your lips, your cheeks and tongue.
